ATLANTA -- There sit here in Atlanta many more vacant homes than we have homeless individuals. Candidate for Mayor of Atlanta for the election held November 2nd 2021 Alex Barrella thinks it is excessively fucked up that the aforementioned factoid is true. Such normalized waste of resources / abuse of human dignity is not surprising but, like many things about our society; make the stomach turn when one sits to meditate on it.

        Unacceptable. In future good Atlanta where our systems are designed to explicitly not allow such cruelty be our reality; all persons will have available to them a safe dwelling for their own use. We will assure this by securing a large quantity of housing currently being unused & largely held by banks / scummy investors via eminent domain where appropriate(if the owner wouldn't be substantially harmed by the sale of the property).

        Once in possession of the city; all units will be brought up to safety/building/habitation standards & put on an open marketplace to be claimed by anyone without. Cool!

        With the proper checks in place & our inclusive community involvement assuring no backdeal profiteering happening; we will be able to provide the shelter already so near available & make us not a bunch of exclusionary hateful capitalist ghouls; systemically. Another step towards allowing our people to have informed confidence / pride in our
policies/institutions.
