MAYORAL CANDIDATE ALEX BARRELLA FILES FOR UNEMPLOYMENT

ATLANTA --- New year; same shit. Here radicool grassroot candidate sits at his desktop on the georgia department of labor website going thru the bureaucratic motions to file~yet another in a long line during his career~unemployment claim.

Having had his hours at hartsfield jackson airport reduced to nothing by reason of his security badge being taken by the administrative office for getting lost on a lunch break-Barrella is in need of financial assistance to get himself thru these winter months as he seeks his next 'gainful outing'. Our social safety net is certainly better than nothing; but is much too exclusionary; underfunded & unnavigable in the 'best of times' to be considered anything near adequate or praiseworthy-while here we are in the middle of clusterfux pandumbic.

The alexb4mayor campaign would rather our city have its own 'no job' initiatives which begin with a universal basic income to assure everyone can have a funding source to pay for critical life expenses of our current economic systems like rent; utilities; food & other sosuch monthly expenses. goodcool future City of Atlanta could also cover those who lose work with job placement assistance programs & additional financial stimuli to assure nothing keeps our citizens from working~if they want to be.

If'd we have a $2k basic income & community owned society, rather than one looking to profit off our every need; we wouldn't even require employment the same way & then things could start to get interesting..possibly amazingly good with labour/the worker able to firmly negotiate fair conditions & wages because they'd have something of a cushion assured by UBI as well as new kick-ass financial laws on the books ensuring that work weeks are 20 hours(before overtime) & with a $20/hour minimum wage.

"'Statistics"' tell us our unemployment rate sits around 5.7%, but of course those are just git-damned misinformative diversionary lies given that it-ohsoconvenientlyfortheirnumbers-discounts those who have stopped looking for work, as well as those who've run out of time on the program (14-20 weeks). A real rate of people jobless would probably be nearer 40% one might guesstimate. Our city will acknowledge the real numbers to give a voice to those left involuntarily unemployed; as well as keep track of those willing to be happily "self-employed" via the umbrella of their minimum $2000/month.

The alexb4mayor campaign wishes to thank the illegitimate state of georgia for hopefully at least sometimes coming thru with almost the bare minimum for some months & hopes superfresh candidate for the people Alex Barrella can land a fresh cartooning job at some point before his possible upcoming mayoral election this coming November 2nd 2021.
