PUBLIC 'PUBLIC' PARKING (PARKING)
ATLANTA -- Another something pretty shitty about atlanta which the alexb4mayor campaign wishes to rapidly fix with badical new policies is: our parking situation. Anything labeled 'public parking' must be available to all the public, as in; free to use. Current lot owners would be free to continue using their operations but would be adjusted to be under a mode where the city is paying for anyone parking there rather than pay as you park; we will do all this via our public fund. This law would be part of a 'make this city more decent however we can' initiative.
We'd spruce up a number of local parking decks &~deck them out~ with modernization for current / future capacity needs. Street parking too would be free, so we can just recycle all those parking meters & use like magnets or something to eliminate all this artificial scarcity for greed/profit.
It would be a drastic; friendly departure from how we currently operate. Consider what is more equitable; in this case an easy choice between supposedly 'public' things being open / free for the public to utilize or not. Like who should be elected mayor of atlanta on november 2nd 2021; the choice when considering the aforementioned here legislation is obvious.
