ADDRESSING VIOLENT CRIME VIA RESETTING DIRECTION

ATLANTA -- our city is in need of a directional reset in many aspects including our plans to meaningfully address crime levels & how what to reduce them. we need a fresh different approach for the solution to ever-increasing violence; particularly violence involving lethal weapons. the alexb4mayor campaign solution is via radically restructuring our establishment to meet the needs of all people in the city; not just those with financial means as is the current normal. as is often the case; it isn't worth meaningfully blaming crime numbers on those individuals mixed up in all that shit; but rather it is smart to look at the systemic causation of inescapable desperation baked into how our society treats 'worthless'(economically) people by focusing on addressing root causes of many crimes (the horrific desperation of steadfast inescapable poverty; dwelling in a society where one is othered if not conventionally 'useful' to the economy) rather than simply ramping up punitive measures. another huge factor / thing to subvert crime which will probably seem counter-intuitive to many: but my candidacy believes a huge factor in ongoing high levels of violent crimes we are seeing is a response to our militaristic policing methods. My aim & something i wish to heavily push from executive office would be the defunding/abolition of our current policing institutions with the goal of putting in place a new department of public safety which uses diplomacy rather than force. By reinvesting/reallocating the funding from APD; we will be able to invest primarily in personnel & safety concept-development over buying equipment of warfare. also believe gun-buyback programs could be a useful ongoing prong of incentivizing disarmament in our community; which would hopefully be more utilized given if we are able to successfully disarm public officials; allowing us to collectively defuse what i perceive as an unnecessary ongoing standoff between state & vulnerable citizens. by guiding our city towards nonviolence as policy, as well as working to assure substantial work visible & meaningful to combat poverty conditions; the hope is that the hostile desperation can begin to dissipate collective anxieties in our communities & reduce people turning towards violence because it could then be seen that we systemically care for our people in a way which right now it can be seen that we currently don't. i also wish to invent & deploy a working 'honey gun' envisioned years back wherein hostile deadly situations involving firearms can be solved by a device which would squirt high-velocity warmed-syrup a long range to clog up threatening mechanisms & debilitate spiritually with abject sweet-stickiness. this would unfortunately be a solution which would take some time for development to get right but such solutions where we seek to defeat violence with nonviolence i believe to be the way to go to promote a society which demonstrably undeniably values ongoing, humane living for everyone.
